THE PRESENT PAST
The Present Past is a YouTube history channel which shows how the past influences the present using academic sources,
looking into how national memory is used to shape identity.
The visual identity stems from the idea of an archive. Archives serve as carriers of versatile content, and their
visual language is thus straightforward and information-first oriented. This connects to the core of The Present Past.
To emphasise the human research behind the content, the identity makes use of scanned tactile objects, such as tape, paperclips and paper textures. The typography and composition speak in a reserved voice, aiming to convey trustworthiness.
