Every four years, the scouts from the Scout Association of Slovenia gather for a summer nation-wide camp. Though bound by the same principles and ways of working, scouts are not easily characterized by a single activity or quality. This year, the event worked under the motto (For)ever Scouts!
In conceptualizing this visual identity, we thought a lot about how to design a unifying identity which reflects the variety of scouting and scouts. So we came up with the idea of a modular visual identity, consisting of different parts which join and separate in different applications.
As a starting point, we scanned the official scout uniform and traced its lines. This gave us a set of shapes. We then used those shapes to design the letters of the logo. The shapes were then used across the visual identity applications. The color scheme was inspired by the artist Lojze Spacal, whose work reflects the colors of the landscape where the camp was based.
